When it comes to adult life and being an educationist and be aware of what influence we have and particularly because, that influence and the way that you choose to control the dynamics can actually affect the outcome of any scenario that you might be in.
How you can show up with full powerful confidence and actually persuade and influence others in any environment?
I will be talking about two important super powerful simple subtle things. That can give you tremendous amount of influence at work and anywhere in your life. You can be powerful force for influence because, teachers are leaders and leadership does ‘not only come from position. There are people who are in good leadership positions but are not good leaders and probably we all have somewhere experience that vice versa some people are not in leadership positions but they are amazing in leading they tend to make decisions they tend to be asked for their advice and guidance they tend to speak up and share their ideas and people pay attention to it so, it’s really not about the position as much as how you show up and so that’s the first thing if you want to start having more influence in the work place you got to show up that means you have to put your ideas forward, you have to able to talk to people whether it’s a boss or colleague or in a meeting or in a small group or approaching someone one-on-one with a question or a concern that you have, you have to be able to put yourself out and speak up in that way and if there is major consonant confidence issues that are blocking that
For Example: They don’t want to hear, they don’t like me, I am not good enough, no one cares, and I am scared of confrontation.
In this case you’re severely limiting yourself and it’s going to be really hard to influence or persuade people.
- How you approach someone and how you frame what you are going to say, makes a huge difference?
- Start asking questions to peers, supervisor etc.
- Face your fears
- Speak in assertive way
- Frame your whole idea
- Second powerful element is concern. What does concerns means? It means danger there is some danger and what grabs people’s attention more than danger, it’s the same thing when you are influencing people it’s like I have some concerns that’s enough to get people’s attention.
